ABOUT İSTANBUL KÜLTÜR UNIVERSITY
“İstanbul Kültür University founded by The Kultur Educational Foundation on July 15, 1997 is a non –profit organization established in accordance with the Turkish law 4281. İstanbul Kültür University serves within the framework of the law 2547 with the rights and privileges recognized for governmental Universities. The Industrial Engineering started the 1997-98 academic year as one of the pioneering departments of the University.
There are three campuses of İKU, located in Şirinevler, İncirli and Ataköy. Industrial Engineering Department is located in Ataköy Campus, alongside the three other departments of the Faculty of Engineering. Ataköy Campus was put into service in the 2004-2005 academic year. The Atakoy Campus, consists of 6 storeys in addition to the ground and two basement floors. 6 elevators as well as the escalators facilitate the movement of the students in the campus. The building, classrooms and amphitheatres have been meticulously designed and all of the laboratories are fully functional. The Ataköy Campus, which houses the Faculty of Engineering covers an area of 65.000 m2. Ataköy campus houses a central library, cafeterias, a bank, a bookshop as well as venues for scientific, social and cultural activities.”
